오늘 난생 처음 빙수를 먹어보는한 무리의 여행객들을 봤다.
Today I saw a group of tourists trying Bingsu for the first time.
한 입을 먹을 때마다 그들의 눈에서 빛이 났다.
Their eyes lit up with every bite.
그걸 보고 생각에 잠겼다.
It got me thinking.
‘이건 한국 디저트는 전세계에 진작 있어야 하는 거 아닌가?
‘Why aren’t Korean desserts like this everywhere already?’
내가 해외에 빙수 가게를 연다고 치면,
If I were to open a Bingsu shop oversears,
달달한 디저트만 팔지 않고,
I wouldn’t just sell sweets.
빙수 한 그릇마다 이야기를 담아낼 것이다.
Instead, I would tell a story with every bowl.
가장 한국적인 것이 가장 세계적인 것이다.
What’s truly Korean is what’s truly global.
